PDP concerned over hike in petroleum prices
Srinagar, Jun 10 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a partner in the Congress led coalition government in the Jammu and Kashmir has expressed concern over the hike in prices of petroleum products.
A spokesman of the PDP in a statement here today demanded exemption of petrol, diesel from sales tax to ease the situation in the state.
He said the steep rise in prices of fuel and LPG will adversely affect the prices of other essential commodities.
Terming the police action against agitating government employees near civil secretariat as undemocratic and uncalled for, he condemned it.
He stressed the need to find an amicable solution to the issue.
The spokesman said that strike by employees has not only hampered the office work, but it puts the common masses in trouble.
He demanded that government should constitute a committee to negotiate with the employees so that an amicable solution to their problems is chalked out.
