Patil to visit Jharkhand tomorrow to review naxal situation

New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil would visit Jharkhand tomorrow to review the naxal situation in the state and efforts being made by the security forces to contain the menace.

Mr Patil, who would be accompanied by Special Secretary (Internal Security) M L Kumawat and other senior officials of the Home Ministry, would visit Chatra and Palamu.

During his day-long visit, the Home Minister would interact with the state government officials and other senior officials of the CRPF and IRB deployed for the anti-naxal operations in the state.

The Director General of CRPF would also accompany the Home Minister during the visit.

Jharkhand along with Chhattisgarh has the maximum incidents of naxal violence and casualty. The state, which has a substantial tribal population, has witnessed many naxal attacks even on railway stations and tracks.
