Monsoon active over Karnataka

Bangalore, June 10 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy amounts of rainfall (cm): Siddapura (Udupi dt) 12, Shirali, Kottigehara 10 each, Panambur 9, Bhatkal, Linganamakki 8 each, Bajpe, Kundapur, Kadra, Manchikere, Kumta 7 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Honavar, Karwar, Siddapura (Uttara Kannada dt), Humchadakatte 6 each, Udupi, Karkala, Ankola, Khanapur 5 each, Mani, Dharmasthala, Agumbe, Bhagamandala 4 each, Mudibidre, Mulki, Kota, Gerusoppa, Sirsi, Virajpet, Talaguppa, Sakleshpura 3 each.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over all the districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Light rain likely.
