JSW Steel crude steel output up 19% in May
New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) JSW Steel Ltd, the country's third-biggest steel producer, today said its crude steel production rose 19 per cent in May to 0.35 million tonnes while flat and long products grew nine per cent and 22 per cent respectively.
The company, an arm of OP Jindal group, said in a statement that it would shut down its hot-strip mill for 17 days from June 12 to modernise the mill and enhance its capacity by 28 per cent to 3.2 million tonnes.
The plant would be recommissioned after modernisation on or before June 30.
JSW group operates in areas like aluminium, mining, carbon steel, power, industrial gases, and port facilities.
It is an over Rs 13,000 crore company set up in 1994.
