Dasmunsi appeals to maintain law and order in Darjeeling
New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, who is also the president of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC), has appealed to all hill leaders and other political parties in Darjeeling to maintain law and order in the wake of indefinite bandh call by the Gurkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM).
Mr Dasmunsi in a letter to the Railway Ministry, requested it to make adequate arrangements for the speedy departure of the stranded tourists from new Jalpaiguri Stations to Kolkata and other respective stations.
He said no force should be applied by any individuals or group in the given circumstances, to break the existing harmony and unity in the region.
