Creation of Bundelkhand on top of agenda: Paswan

New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party President and Union Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said if he gets to rule the country even for an hour then the creation of Bundelkhand as a separate state would be his topmost priority.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Paswan said considering the abysmal condition of Bundelkhand the only way for its betterment is to make it a separate state.

He said his ministry recently organised health camps in various parts of the country and during that the sorry state of affairs in Bundelkhand came to light.

''I am sorry to say that the apathy and injustice on the part of the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments led the situation to such a pass that tens of thousands of people were forced to migrate from this region,'' he rued.

Endorsing the demand for the creation of Bundelkhand as a separate state, Mr Paswan said if he got the chance to rule the country even for an hour his first priority would be the formation of it.

He said similarly he was in favour of making Vidharbha in Maharastra and Poorvanchal in Uttar Pradesh separate states, adding the solution to the problems afflicting those places lay in only that.
