Centre keen on resolving strike at NLC

New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) Minister of State for Coal Santosh Bagrodia has convened a meeting of all trade union leaders of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), Tamil Nadu on June 13 to resolve the ongoing strike at the NLC.

The meeting to be held here is being convened at the request of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had stated how severly the strike for the past 15 days has affected the power generation at NLC.

The letter also pointed out how it has adversely affected the social conditions of 12,000 contract labourers.
