Car driver loots Rs 10.30 lakh from owner

Madikeri, Karnataka, Jun 10 (UNI) A car driver looted Rs 10.30 lakh from his employer in south Kodagu yesterday.

According to police, Mohammed Sadali from Kerala, running a Coffee curing unit at Periyapatna, had withdrawn the amount from a bank at Virajpet for purchasing coffee seeds from planters.

While he was proceeding in his car to Periyapatna, he stopped at Korakotu village near Srimangala to answer nature's call. As soon as he alighted from the car, the driver drove away the vehicle with the money.

Mr Sadali walked 1.5 km to the nearest Srimangala police station and lodged a complaint.

The driver, after fleeing with money abandoned the car at the same place in the evening where Sadali had got down, police added.
