Audit deptt official caught taking bribe

Chandigarh, Jun 10 (UNI) The Vigilance Bureau today caught red handed Jagdish Chander Tanuja, Assistant Controller, Local Audit posted in Market Committee Hoshiarpur, while accepting bribe of Rs 3000.

According to an official spokesman, Tanuja had demanded Rs 3000 from Arvinder Singh, Clerk, Market Committee, Dasuya for calculating the arrear of last two and a half years. The Vigilance team headed Daljit Singh, DSP caught the culprit red-handed and the money was recovered from him.

The Vigilance department has registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigations were still being carried by the Vigilance department.
