Alcoholic kills wife, injures son before ending life

Hisar, Jun 10 (UNI) A drunken man killed his sleeping wife and injured his son seriously with a sharp edged weapon, before consuming poison himself, in village Koth Kalan in the district last night, police today said.

The man, Jagbeer Singh, was apparently incesnsed by his family's strong opposition to his weakness for alcohol, which used to lead to regular quarrels.

Last night, he came came in an inebriated state and first slit the throat of his wife with a 'gandasi' and then climbed to the roof where he attacked his sleeping son Anoop repeatedly with the same weapon. Later, he himself consumed celphos and died.

The condition of his son, who was rushed to the nearby hospital, was stated to be critical but under control, police said.
