VB sleuths nab two FCI officials while taking bribe
Sangrur, Jun 9 (UNI) Two technical assistants of Food Corporation of India (FCI) were today nabbed by state vigilance bureau sleuths while taking bribe from a rice mill owner in Lahragagga sub-division in the district.
Vigilance Bureau, Patiala had received a complaint from Ajaib Singh, owner of Siddhu rice mill at village Nihalgarh that the FCI officials had demaded Rs 20,000 and settled for Rs 15,000 to certify the quality of the rice shelled at his sheller.
Acting on the complaint, the VB flying squad DSP Anil Sharma led a team to catch the two Shiv Ram and Kanwar Pal Singh red-handed while receiving the bribe.
Both were arrested and an FIR was lodged against them at Vigilance Bureau, Patiala under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, sources said.
