UP Governor accepts Nishad's resignation

Lucknow, June 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar today accepted the resignation of Minister of State for Fisheries Jamuna Nishad.

Mr Nishad was sacked by Chief Minister Mayawati yesterday over his alleged involvement in the killing of a police constable in Maharajganj Kotwali police station.

Expressing her anguish over the incident, Ms Mayawati had said that she had asked Mr Nishad to resign and the resignation letter has been forwarded to the Governor for his acceptance.
