Trunk call charges slashed up to 50 percent

New Delhi, June 9 : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the State-run telecom major, announced here today a 40-50 percent reduction in STD charges of cellular services under various plans.

BSNL also announced that the call charges of landline services would be slashed by 50 per cent.

Earlier this year, private telecom operators like Airtel and Vodafone had reduced their STD and roaming charges.

Under the landline services, STD rates have been reduced from Rs 2.40 to Rs 1.20 per minute to all networks under general and 'sulabh' plan.

The roaming charges under prepaid and postpaid services have also been revised.
