Tri service commanders to brainstorm on satellite imagery
New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) With the Indian Defence Forces working on achieving sub-meter satellite imagery, the commanders of the three services will brainstorm on the issue during the two-day Unified Commanders' Conference to be held here from tomorrow.
One of the agendas for the conference is discussion on satellite imagery. The Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) will make a presentation on the issue.
The other agendas include 'Jointness among the three services and higher defence management'. Another presentations lined up include the one on the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). Set up in the year 2001, ANC is the tri-service command.
To be inaugurated by Defence Minister A K Antony, the conference will be attended, among others, by commanders-in-chief of the ANC command and the Strategic Force Command (SFC). Commanders of tri services institutions, including the National Defence Academy (NDA) will also attend the meet.
The Directorate of Training will make a presentation on the 'Indian Way of Warfare', during the two-day event, Defence Ministry sources said.
The conference will also discuss strategy to bring about coordination among the Army, Navy and Air Force. Top strategists will also review the progress achieved so far in this transformation and try to work out a conceptual way forward.
