Three held with heroin worth Rs 2.24 cr

Mumbai, Jun 9 (UNI) The Anti Narcotics Cell of the city police today arrested three persons, including a twenty-five-year-old woman, while they were about to deliver heroin, worth Rs 2.24 crore in the international market, to another drug peddler in the city's Dockyard road area.

The officers of the cell had received information that a group of drug peddlers would visit a hotel at Dockyard road area along with a huge quantity of the drugs.

Following the information, police laid a trap and arrested Rafiq Shaikh, Zarib Qureshi and Salma Khan, and seized the contraband before they could deliver it to another person.

According to the information, the key accused in the case is still at large and police are investigating the matter.

About 2.4 kg of the seized drug is of high quality and its value in the international market is approximatly Rs 2.24 crore.

The trio was later produced in the special narcotics court, which remanded them to police custody for 14 days, police added.
