Southwest monsoon advances in AP

Hyderabad, Jun 9 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon today further advanced into the remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and some parts of north Telangana.

According to the Meteorological Department officials here, conditions were favourable for further advancement of Southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Telangana during the next two days.

Isolated rain also occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Weather remained dry over Rayalaseema. However, Dummagudem in Khammam district recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at a few places over Telangana and in the remaining districts of coastal areas of the state. Isolated rain or thundershowers were also likely to occur over Rayalaseema.
