Rs 9.70 lakh stolen from Punjab National Bank's branch

Pune, Jun 9 (UNI) A gang of eight unidentified men, armed with revolvers and sharp weapons, looted Rs 9.70 lakh from a branch of Punjab National Bank, after locking employees in a cabin, in Aundh area of the city today.

Police said the incident occurred between 0925 hrs and 0945 hrs.

At the time of the incident, there was no security guard present.

The gang entered the bank and allegedly threatened the employees and customers at gun point before decamping with deposits of Rs 9.70 lakh.

As they were brandishing weapons, nobody dared to offer any resistance.

Before the dacoits left, they locked all the employees in a room.

No arrest has been made so far and investigations are on, police added.
