Petro price hike stir; BJYM workers arrested
Hyderabad, Jun 9 (UNI) More than 50 activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), including senior BJP leader B Bal Reddy, were arrested when they tried to lay a seige to the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat in protest against the recent hike in fuel prices.
The activists converged at the highly protected Secretariat area, and tried to barge into the premises through the main gate.
The alert police forces stationed there prevented the protesters from entering the Secretariat.
After a tussle between the police and activists, the BJYM workers were taken into preventive custody.
Vehicular traffic was disrupted for more than one hour on the busy Secretariat-Khairatabad road following the stir.
