New Delhi, June 9 : Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the world's most elevated railway, did not feel the tremors despite lying in the area affected by two earthquakes, which shook the border of Qinghai Province and Tibet Autonomous Region.

Railway traffic was normal, even as the quake struck the area where the railway operates said Xu Chuanjie, an official with the Qinghai provincial earthquake administration.

Everything was normal at the Amdo Station in Tibet's Amdo County, which lies close to the quake area and railway traffic operated on time, Xinhua reported.

A mild earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haixi at 1:56 a.m. which lies in the west of Qinghai, and at 5:44 a.m. another quake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale revisited the area.

No casualties or damages were reported after the quakes.
