Girl commits suicide; case registered against father
Fatehgarh Sahib, June 9 (UNI) A 20-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at Mohanmajra village in the district last night, police today claimed.
On the statement of the maternal uncle of the deceased girl, Mandeep Kaur, the police has registered a case against Jaswant Singh, father of the girl and her stepmother Taranjit Kaur under sections 306 of the IPC.
The complainant alleged that his niece committed suicide as she was being harassed by her father and step mother. The father is a constable with the Chandigarh police.
