Former Assam Minister's bail plea rejected

New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) A city court today rejected the bail plea of former Assam Minister Ripun Bora in a case in which he was arrested while trying to offer a bribe to a CBI sleuth investigating the murder of a student leader Daniel Topno.

Additional Sessions Judge S P Garg rejected the bail pleas of Mr Bora and co-accused R K Maheshwari and said the case was in the initial stage of investigation. Seeing the gravity of offence of the accused, they cannot be released on bail.
