FACT kicks off current fiscal in style
Kochi, Jun 9 (UNI) The Fertilisers And Travancore Limited (FACT), a Government of India enterprise, has performed well during the first two months of the current fiscal with a total production of over 92,000 tonne of Factamfos and 35,000 tonnes of Ammonium Sulphate.
Though there was a general slow down in the production of phosphatic fertilizers in South India due to the steep hike in the prices of raw materials, FACT was able to sustain production to great extent and make fertilizers available to farmers in the region, acccording to in official release here today.
But due to the shorartge of certain raw materials, FACT was constrained to go in for a strategic rescheduling of production as the long-term contract with Indian Potash Limited for continuous supply of raw materials would be fully operational by only July 2008.
FACT is continuing with the production of Factamfos 20:20, at a reduced rate, and the company had imported 23,000 tonnes of Urea for supply in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the release added.
