Dog eats infant's body

Barwani, MP, Jun 9 (UNI) The body of a new-born infant was eaten by a dog in the premises of government hospital at Sendhwa in this district of Madhya Pradesh, official sources said today.

''Fourteen infants were born on June 5 and June 6 where a tribal woman gave birth to a dead baby girl,'' Sendhwa-based Block Medical Officer Suresh Chouhan said.

He said that the infant's body was legally handed over to the family and hence no laxity was found against the hospital authorities.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Vishnu Kamalkar has directed Sendhwa Tahsildar to probe into the matter yesterday.

''The report will be submitted in three days,'' Mr Kamalkar added.
