District Education Superintendent suspended

Patna, Jun 9 (UNI) District Education Superintendent of East Champaran Thakur Manoranjan Prasad was suspended today on the directive of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for committing irregularities.

Official sources said here that some villagers of Madhuban block in East Champaran had complained to the Chief Minister during 'Janta Durbar' about the irregularities, committed by Mr Prasad.

'' Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalay is being run at a building owned by an influential person associated with particular political party, '' the villagers alleged and said Mr Prasad was getting undue benefits from the owner of the building.

An inquiry carried out by Principal Secretary Anjani KumarSingh indicated that Mr Prasad was prima facie guilty and he was placed under suspension forthwith.
