BJP alone can decide on Afzal issue: Venkaiah

Hyderabad, Jun 9 (UNI) Covertly concurring with Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today maintained that only the BJP could take a firm decision on the execution of the death sentence handed down to him by the Supreme Court for his role in Parliament attack.

Talking to reporters here, he accused the Congress-led UPA Government of ''dilly-dallying'' on taking a decision on the death sentence awarded to Afzal in 2004 by the apex court due to ''vote bank politics''.

''Unhappy'' with the delay on the part of the UPA Government to take a decision, Afzal had reportedly wished that Mr Advani become the next Prime Minister as he was the only one who could take a decision and hang him.
