AP hikes autorickshaw fare in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today hiked the fares of autorickshaws in the city following the increase in fuel prices and the demand from various autorickshaw unions.

Speaking to newspersons here after holding discussions with the unions, State Transport Minister K Laxminarayana said the minimum fare was increased from Rs 10 to Rs 12 and the fare for every km was hiked to Rs seven from Rs 5.60.

The increased fares would come into effect from tonight. However, the late night fares were not increased.

The Minister said the government would provide housing facility to auto drivers under INDIRAMMA housing scheme and distribute white ration cards to them at the earliest in the city.
