African National Congress delegation meets Sonia Gandhi
New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) African National Congress (ANC) President Dr Jacob Zuma met Congress President Sonia Gandhi here this morning and discussed the ongoing efforts made by India and South Africa to strengthen bilateral political, economic and cultural relations.
Dr Zuma, a former Vice President of South Africa, who arrived here yesterday on a four-day visit, will also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The South African leader is heading a delegation for talks with Indian leaders on strengthening bilateral ties.
Delegation-level talks between the ANC and the Congress will be held here tomorrow following which the two sides will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on enhancing ties.
The visiting ANC delegation also met the representatives of Indian industry at a function organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma will host a dinner in honour of the visiting delegation.
It will leave for Mumbai tomorrow for discussions with Indian business leaders.
