13 bogies of goods train fall into gorge
Godda, Jun 9 (UNI) Altogether 13 bogies of a goods train, carrying coal, fell down a 15-foot-deep gorge in this district late last night.
Official sources said today the coal-laden train was proceeding from Rajmahal Coal Project to Kahalgaon power station of National Thermal Power Corporation.
The train left Lalmatia station and got derailed just three km away as fish plates from the MGR track were removed by extremists.
No casualty was reported in the incident, the sources said, adding that the engine and open bogey slipped but did not fall down.
Earlier, notorious miscreant Mahendra Hansda Giroh had announced to disrupt the supply of coal from Lalmatia mines from June 1 following which authorities rushed in forces from six districts of Santhal Paraganas, the sources said.
Hansda's supporters removed the fished plates last night leading to the accident, police said.
