Three suspected militants killed in encounter in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 8 (UNI) At least three suspected ultras were kiled n an encounter with security forces at Lairenpat in Imphal East district midnight last night.

Police said here today one carbine and two 9 mm pistol were seized from their possession.

The jawans of Assam Rifles and police asked the militants to stop, but the latter refused to budge and instead started firing forcing the security forces to retaliate.

In the ensuing encounter, three ultras were killed.
