Sri Lankan High Commissioner calls on Chouhan
Bhopal, Jun 8 (UNI) Sri Lankan High Commissioner C R Jaisinghe today called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at his residence here today.
Mr Chouhan presented a facsimile of Sanchi's Stupa and a book focussing on Madhya Pradesh to Mr Jaisinghe.
While mentioning cultural similarity between India and Sri Lanka during the meeting, Mr Chouhan said both the countries were emotionally attached with each other. Mr Chouhan expressed happiness over Sri Lanka's participation in the international Ramleela Samaroh being organised at Bhopal, an official release said here today.
Mr Chouhan invited Lankan industrialists to invest in Madhya Pradesh. While mentioning discovery and development of 50 spots connected with Ramayan in Sri Lanka, the Chief Minister expressed the hope that following this Indian masses' interest in Sri Lanka would increase.
Mr Jaisinghe expressed gratitude towards the Madhya Pradesh government for its hospitality, the release added.
