Police arrests three Gujjar protestors with arms

{image-gujjar protest_08062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Jaipur, June 8 : The Rajasthan Police today arrested three Gujjar protestors from Pilupura along with arms.

The protestors were Major Singh Gujjar, Vishram Singh Gujjar and Kartar Singh Gujjar who were found guilty under the Arms Act. The police arrested them near a railway track and seized their loaded weapons, the official said. Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti leader Kirori Singh Bainsla has been holding sit-in agitation at Pilipura for the past 17 days, demanding the Scheduled Tribe status for the community. The State police has started frisking people as a security measure so that no protester carry any arm and ammunition while protesting at the site, where 16 people fell victim to the police firing and Gujjars' violent agitation on May 23.
