Passenger arrested for carrying Hydrochloride worth Rs 60 lakh
Chennai, Jun 8 (UNI) A Kuala Lumpur-bound passenger was arrested for carrying Kethamin Hydrochloride worth Rs 60 lakh in the wee hours today at Chennai airport, police said.
They said Ahamed Ibrahim(35) hailing from Ilayankudi in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu was about to board the Indian Airlines flight at 0230 hrs when the customs officials found that he had concealed six kg Kethamin Hydrochloride in 640 packets of 'Pan Gurkha' in his bag.
Ibrahim was detained and grilled by the officials concerned.
A case had been registered and investigation was underway, police added.
