Old business community of Sikkim seeks exemption from Central IT
Gangtok, Jun 8 (UNI) The business community of Sikkim, living in the state for generations with Sikkim subject certificates, has demanded Chief Minister Pawan Chamling to recommend their exemption from the Central Income Tax to the Union Government.
The community, under the name of Association of Old Businessmen of Sikkim (AOBS), also requested the Chief Minister to give strength to their cause by bringing a suitable resolution to this effect in the current session of Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
While extending Central Income Tax Act in Sikkim, the Centre had exempted Sikkimese people having Sikkim subject holders from the Central Income Tax. This had brought the old business community of the state under the Central Income Tax.
