'Development of North Karnataka is my first preference': Shettar
Hubli, June 8 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar today said that his first preference would be development of North Karnataka region.
Talking to newsmen here, he said he was in touch with the people of the region and would cooperate fully for the development works being in the chair as the Speaker.
A meeting of officials and municipal councilors has been convened here on June 10. the meeting would discuss among other things, basic amenities such as drinking water and other development works, he added.
Mr Shettar said that steps would be taken to commence the construction work of 'Suvarna Vidhan Soudh' at Belgaum soon.
Replying to a question, Mr Shettar said that 90 MLAs in the Assembly were new and they would be provided with a two-day training on their duties in the House.
