AP CM okays stipend hike

Hyderabad, Jun 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today okayed the enhancement of the monthly stipend of Stipendiary Cadet Sub Inspectors from Rs 3,500 to 5,000 per month and that of the Stipendiary Cadet Constables from Rs 2,200 to 3,000 per month with effect from April, 2008.

Director General of Police (DGP) S S P Yadav said even Home Guards were being paid Rs 3,000 per month at the rate of Rs 100 a day which was higher than the stipend of trainee constables, said an official release here quoting him.

Earlier, the DGP had forwarded a proposal of the Andhra Pradesh Police Association to the government recommending enhancement of monthly stipend of the Stipendiary Cadets, the release added.
