2 get lifer for murder, 1 acquitted

Nagpur, Jun 8 (UNI) The sessions court here has sentenced two persons to life imprisonment, while acquitting another, on the charges of murder.

The third sessions Judge here handed down the punishment to Mahesh Gangadhar Sarode (22) and Sonu Gangadhar Sarode (19), besides imposing a fine of Rs 2,000 on both of them, on Friday.

The third accused, Avinash Kishore Ingle (30), was, however, acquitted by the court.

According to the prosecution, Mahesh, Sonu and Avinash hatched a conspiracy and murdered Vinod Govind Bhayde (19), by stabbing him with sharp weapons, here on July 10, 2006. Vinod was murdered over old enmity, the prosecution said.

Mahesh, Sonu and Avinash were arrested the next morning.
