Yeddyurappa to expand ministry on June 7
Bangalore, June 7: Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa will expand his week-old ministry today. Yeddyurappa on Friday won the trust vote in the Assembly, marking the formal start of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) first government in southern India.
Talking to media, Yeddyurappa said the vote of confidence has given five years time to BJP to prove as per the manifesto. The BJP won the vote of confidence through a voice vote, which included the support of the six independents, five of whom are in the cabinet. The BJP with 110 seats in the 224-member house formed the government with the help of six independent candidates.
