Surjewala demands Chautala's resignation

Kaithal, Jun 7 (UNI) Haryana Power and Water Supply Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala today demanded resignation of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay Singh Chautala on moral grounds as they had been chargesheeted by the CBI in JBT teachers' recruitment scam yesterday..

Mr Surjewala, while addressing a press conference here, said with the submission of chargesheet by the CBI against the Chautalas, their ''misdeeds, corrupt political practices and favoritism had been exposed''.

He said it was ''very unfortunate'' that criteria of merit were not followed during the recruitment process of primary teachers and the meritorious candidates were ignored.
