Sugar prices gain
Navi Mumbai, Jun 7 (UNI) Price of wholesale sugar today recovered by Rs 10 per quintal, on reduced offers from stockists in the face of lesser stock supply from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Prices of small and medium grade sugar gained by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per quintal, respectively, on better demand from bulk consumers and retailers, in view of reduced stocks at the domestic markets.
Prices of ex-mill small and medium grades sugar also rose by Rs ten each, on improved buying support from dealers, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,460/1,510, Medium grade: Rs 1,485/1,575.
Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,450/1,470 and medium grade: Rs 1,470/1,490.
