Rail services on Delhi-Rewari-JPR sec restored

New Delhi, Jun 7 (UNI) Railway services between Delhi and Rajasthan, which had been suspended for more than a week due to the Gujjar agitation, were partially restored today with several trains on the Delhi-Rewari-Jaipur section of the Northern Railway resuming operations.

''Traffic on the Delhi-Rewari-Jaipur section has been restored after the situation improved in the area,'' a Northern Railway spokesperson said.

With effect from June 7, services to eight trains, including 9105/9106 Ahmedabad-Hardwar Exp, 2461/2462 Delhi-Jodhpur Mandore Exp, 4059 Delhi Sarai Rohila-Jodhpur Exp, 2957/2958 New Delhi-Ahmedabad Rajdhani Exp, 4311/4312 Bareilly-Bhuj Ala Hazrat Exp, 9771 Jaipur-Amritsar Exp, 9263 Porbander-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Exp and the 2915/2916 Ashram Exp have been brought into service, the spokesperson informed.

Services to the 2463 Delhi-Sarai Rohila Jodhpur Sampark Kranti Exp will be restored from tomorrow, whereas those to the the 4060 Jaisalmer Exp and the Delhi Sarai Rohila Exp leaving from Barmer on 06/06/08 have been partially restored, he added.

He said services through the Kota division of Rajasthan, however, remain suspended, due to the extensive damage to railway tracks during the Gujjar agitation.
