NRI brothers hire contract killers to kill father

Jalandhar, Jun 7 (UNI) Two Germany-based NRIs reportedly hired contract killers to kill their father at village Shalapur in the district.

Police said that NRIs Amandeep Singh and Sumandeep Singh alon gwith their village-based brother Rajwinder Singh planned to kill their father Karnail Singh (57) as they were perturbed over his plan of remarriage, after the death of their mother nearly one-and-half year back.

Police said the NRIs had allegedly sent Rs four lakh through hawala dealer to one Tejinder Singh to hire professional killers to kill their father, a school teacher.

At this, Tejinder Singh hired two contract killers identified as Harbhajan Singh alias Happy of Moga district and Hira Singh of Kapurthala district, police informed.

The killers then murdered Karnail Singh when he was coming back to his village from his school on May 16, police added.

During the course of investigation in another case, police came to know that the blind murder was executed by contract killers and the conspiracy was hatched by the deceased's sons only.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case under Section 302 of IPC and Arms Act against the three brothers, conspirator and contract killers, however, police arrested Rajwinder Singh and Tejinder Singh and efforts were on to nab the contract killers.

The police would also try to extradite Amandeep and Sumandeep from Germany as early as possible, he said.
