MP CM writes letter to PM for agricultural debt waiver
Bhopal, June 7: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged in a letter writter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to include drought-hit Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Datia, Sagar and Satna districts' farmers in special catagory of Agricultural Debt Waiver scheme to provide them proper benifit, official sources said.
In his letter to Mr Singh, Mr Chouhan said the directions issued by the Finance Ministry for other farmers under the Agricultural Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, 2008 stated that those revenue districts -- covered by DPAP, DDP regions and Prime Minister's Special Relief Package -- would be paid with 25 per cent rebate or Rs 20,000 which ever was more on the condition that the rest amount would be paid by the farmers.
