Jet, Spice Jet withdraw flights from Andaman
Port Blair, June 7: The SpiceJet and Jet Airlines have withdrawn flights from 'loss-making' Andaman sector. Kingfisher Airlines had withdrawn its flight from this sector for a similar reason a few months ago. However, the low-cost wing of Kingfishers, 'Simply fly Deccan' would continue its services in this sector, sources said.
According to information received here, Jet Airlines have already withdrawn its flight from Chennai sector. However, the flight services from Kolkata sector would continue till next month, before the final wrap-up.
It was learnt that SpiceJet has completely skipped from this 'unviable' sector from early this week, leaving atleast dozens of people jobless in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In the place of Jet Airlines, Jetlite Airlines would continue to render its services for these remote islands, a highly placed source in Jet Airlines told UNI.
