Heavy rains lash city, trains affected
Mumbai, Jun 7 (UNI) Heavy rains lashed the city today disturbing the public transport system.
Colaba in South Mumbai has received 94.2 mm rainfall since June 1 and Santacruz in western suburban Mumbai received 209.7 rainfall, according to officials from the weather bureau.
Trains on the harbour line were running as much as 45 minutes late, as the trains were running only on one track. Similarly, trains on the western and the central line were also delayed.
Incidents of water clogging have also been reported from some areas of the city.
Meanwhile, authorities from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Tree Authority said that at least three trees, two in the western suburbs and one in the central suburbs, have fallen down due to strong winds and rains in the city.
