Centre sanctions Rs 10 crore for IHM Hamirpur

Shimla, Jun 7 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned a sum of Rs 10 crore as Central financial assistance for the construction of a new Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) at Hamirpur, state tourism secretary Manisha Nanda today said.

Of the Rs 10 crore Rs eight crore have been sanctioned for the construction and Rs two crore for purchasing the equipment Ms Nanda said, while presiding over the first meeting of the governing body of the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition Society here.

She said an additional sum of Rs two crore would also be made available for the state government for civil works.

The construction work would commence soon and the institute would begin functioning by 2009, she said, adding that it has to be completed withing 18 months.

Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation would execute the work and concept plan and drawings which were being finalized, she added.
