Bandh peaceful in Davanagere
Davanagere, Karnataka, June 7: 'Davanagere Bandh' call given by Raitha Sangha demanding supply of fertiliser and seeds evoked good response with all commercial establishments remained closed today.
Nationalised Banks, Educational Institutions remained closed while the agitating farmers forced closure of State and Centre government offices in the City.
Cinema Halls suspended shows and business establishments downed their shutters in support of farmers demand.
The farmers are on the streets since last one week for proper supply of fertilisers and seeds which are badly needed for continuing agriculture activity.
No untoward incident reported so far and the vehicles on the highway were diverted to bypass road, police said.
Meanwhile, the District Authorities have received 2400 tons of fertilisers and it was likely to be distributed by evening.
