Bandh evokes partial response in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Jun: The bandh, called by the Left parties in protest against the fuel price hike, evoked partial response in Tamil Nadu today. Hundreds of activists of the CPI (M), CPI and All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), who gave the bandh call, were arrested in several parts of the state when they resorted to rail and road roko.

Majority of the autorickshaws kept off the road and skeleton bus services were maintained in some parts of the state. Shops remained closed at a few places but in most of the places, life was normal.
