A Police Inspector arrested while accepting bribe

Bangalore, June 7 (UNI) Police Inspector Venkatesh Shetty of Sampangiramanagara Police station in the City was caught red hand while accepting bribe today.

According to a release, Mr Muniyappa had purchased a house and there was a dispute between him and the seller and a complaint was filed in the Sampangiramanagar Police station.

Yesterday, Shetty called Muniyappa to a Hotel and demanded Rs 20,000 bribe otherwise he would be sent to jail. The amount was later reduced to Rs 10,000.

Not willing to pay the bribe amount, Mr Muniyappa approached Lokayukta who laid a trap and arrested Shetty while accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.
