Robbery in Bangalore, techies nabbed

Bangalore, Jun 7: City police have arrested a six-member gang, including three software engineers, on a charge of abducting of software engineers of reputed companies and demanding a ransom to release them.

City police Commissioner Neelam Achutha Rao told mediapersons that Praveen, Rajkumar and software engineer of Metro Company Sandesh alias Suresh, and R R Nagar Networks Propriters Bharat Amla and D K Kiran were arrested. After experiencing loss in their IT business, they indulged in kidnapping of IT engineers, he said, adding two cars and a cash amount of Rs four lakh were recovered from them.

He said, on receiving a complaint from Mind Brey Company Senior Consultant Srinivas, Kalasipalyam, East Division police swung into action.

The arrested had kidnapped Gupta of Global Works on March 18, 2008 and demanded a ransom of Rs ten lakh. But they released him after collecting Rs 2.50 lakh.

On April four, they had kidnapped Bejar Min of another software company and after tying fake bombs to his body they demanded Rs ten lakh. After receiving the amount the kidnappers released him.
