Two ULFA rebels killed
Guwahati, Jun 06 (UNI) Two hardcore ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Army and Police in lower Assam's Nalbari district today.
The security forces recovered some arms and ammunition from them.
Official sources said the security forces, acting on a tip off, raided a farm house at Jagannathpur under Tihu police station after cordoning off the area.
The ultras opened fire on the troops who retaliated killing the two on the spot, the sources said.
Two pistols, a Chinese grenade, 20 live rounds of ammunition and a magazine were recovered from the slain militants.
The insurgents were identified as Hitesh Basumatary and Manoj Boro, the sources said.
